Strong Schools ZA: Cultivating Growth Through Sustainable Initiatives

In collaboration with Maria Kotze Gardens, Capitec Bank, and Prominent Paints, Strong Schools ZA, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable transformations in schools, spearheaded a remarkable project on Mandela Day. The endeavor involved the establishment of a sustainable vegetable garden on the school premises and the revitalization of the Maths classroom through a fresh coat of paint. Engaging the learners of the school, the project not only aimed at sustainable development but also fostered a sense of community involvement and empowerment.

The SunStar: Illuminating Hope and Unity

In celebration of South Africa's 20th year of democracy, artist Christopher Swift crafted 'The SunStar,' a towering solar sculpture standing at 24 meters tall and eight radiant points, symbolizing peace and unity. As a testament to sustainability and growth, I had the honor of overseeing the transition from the temporary sculpture to a permanent fixture adorned with 200 thriving plants nurtured from endemic cuttings and seeds meticulously sourced from the site itself. This transformation not only enhances the artistic landscape but also embodies a deeper connection to the land and its heritage.
